Hi, The project is to display in a wi-fi range, one of 8 predesignated geometric shape on a tablet or mobile phone in real time when one of eight buttons is press on a control switch box. The system would consist of a control box with 8 momentary switch manually operated. This control box would have a wireless transmission to an android tablet or phone. The tablet or phone would connect to the control box built in wi-fi mode or bluetooth. The maximum communicating range between the control box and tablet is 100ft, this control box is a stand alone and has no network or internet access. Once the tablet is connected to the control box , everytime 1 of 8 momentary switch is pressed the tablet will show on the tablet display the geometric shape for a preset time of a minimum 3 seconds. The control box logic is already designed with an arduino controller and we display the geometric shape on a wired led module. Basically we need to make a wireless communication from our control box arduino controller to a tablet or phone to display real time the action following a manually switch operation. The tablet/phone must be in standby mode for approximately 30 minute , and waiting to display the shapes after a button is press. The shape can be designed in the tablet and decoded after receiving the arduino signal or can be designed in the arduino and sent to the tablet in real time. Anyone interested with this challenge? Hi, I think is better to design the shape in the tablet. I don't know if the tablet can keep a good connection for 100 ft , maybe you need repeaters. Well, ping me to clarify details and I can try at least the first connection with the tablet I will not ask for upfront, I wish to try if I can do the job and establish the connection with the arduino and the Tablet first. Hi, The ESP07-8266 module when connected to the control box can generate the wi-fi signal and it also acts as a web server where the web services in C++ can be stored to communicate with the tablet or mobile phone. Im up for the task, ive built something very similar in the past,( for a client who needed clues to be displayed on tablets when a butten is pushed for his locked in a room game). changing that to display geometric shapes wont be that big of a task and i would suggest instead of using arduino's in the control boxes with the switches and use esp 8266 (it has wifi) and we can have wifi router in a central location and have the tablet connected to it as well. feel free to check my profile for more details or text me to discuss further

Hi, My name is George Bouris. My proposal is for a simpler and cheaper solution. Instead of using an Arduino and a WiFi or Bluetooth shield or module, you can use an ESP8266 module. This device incorporates a WiFi module along with a powerful micro controller and it's very small and cheap. Google it. For the control box you can use either what you already have built or I can give you instructions for a much simpler -yes, it is possible- unit. The firmware that I will develop will make the ESP module to appear as an Access Point (either open or password protected), to which you can connect via any device that can connect to a WiFi network (tablet, mobile phone, laptop etc). When you connected to the module, you can open a web page on your browser and view the the status of the pressed switch as a shape. As you understand the module will work as a web server, as well. The status will update very frequently, so any button press will show on the browser almost instantly.
