I have a tourism business that organisers app based scavenger hunt events, and we've also been creating virtual tour guides using a third party's system. Their system is great for team activities but not so good for tour guides. I'm looking for someone to develop an app / system that can do both. The current system I use involves GPS / image recognition technology.

When guests pass through a GPS hotspot or scan an artistic image, they can then access an audio, video, photo or text files about their current location.
The app should be brand-able and have options for logo placement, colour palettes, and background ground images.
The ability to hot edit guides is crucial. The third party's system does not allow this and new QR access codes need to be created if a guide requires editing. This is the major weakness.
The app should also be able to develop scavenger hunt games. please see www.goscavengerhunt.com.au. When players pass through GPS hotspots or scan images, they open up tasks for point scoring. Tasks involve answering trivia, multiple choice questions, taking and submitting photos, taking and submitting videos. Images and photos can be auto scored or scored by referee. Teams can message each other, message the referee, see a scoreboard, see other teams locations, rejoin on a different phone if they run out of battery. The current system I use has a library of generic tasks that can be dropped and dragged onto hotspots. It also support indoor mapping.
The other key feature of the app to be developed is the ability for clients (such as tourism associations, tourism attractions, or travel writers) to log in to their own portal and develop their own guides. There would be different subscription levels from one-off use (via a coupon), up to 5 guides, up to 20 guides etc. Clients would not need to access scavenger hunt features.
Another option would be to create a white app if clients wanted a completely seperate system for themselves.
I've added a few screenshots from another virtual guide developer. This gives you a really good idea of how guides are developed. It's very user friendly. At this stage I'm looking for approximate costs, time lines, and examples of previous work. A complementary website would also need to be developed.
