we are now seeking to hire an experienced joiner/carpenter with transferable skills to complement our small but fantastic team.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager the successful candidate will undertake the fabrication of Corian and other solid surface materials. A good standard of education along with experience of fabrication of solid surface materials and/or joinery/shop fitting experience is essential.
A relevant joinery qualification with the ability to read and interpret information from technical drawings and templating skills would be a distinct advantage, as would experience working within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Key duties include: fabricating surfaces from solid surface materials such as Corian, Krion, Staron, ply, MDF and solid Timber products, fabricating surfaces from technical drawings, making templates and formers from working drawings, undertaking the operation of machinery and hand powered tools (hand routers, random orbital sander and plunge saws).
The right candidate can be put through an advanced Corian Fabricators course to gain the certificate if they do not already have it or are keen to gain certification.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to work to tight deadlines, autonomously or as part of a team and have a flexible approach to workload and duties. Applicants should note this is a physically demanding role with manual handling and lifting involved.
