We need to send and receive SMS messages with our users. For security reasons we cannot use a cloud based solution. We have 2 GSM Modems with Wavecom Q2303A/2C/2C2.
You will write an application that will run on Ubuntu 18.04LTS The Modems will be connected to the serial ports.
You will provide the following.
Sending Message.
We will insert the message we want to send in the database. You will poll the database every few seconds. if you find a message to send (date_time may be set in the future) you will send it via 1 of the 2 modems. If the modem errors you will use the other modem. You will load balance across the modems in normal us. In the event one of the modems errors, you will send a message to a predefined number with the error details. You will log each message to a log file, with the success or error messages.
the database will be simple. phone_number message status date_time
Receiving Messages.
You will poll the modems every few seconds to see if they have received any messages, you will insert them into the database.
the database will be message_from message_to date message
We will give you access to a development server with 2 modems installed, you will use this for your development. once it is complete, you will provide us with the installation instructions to install and run app, we will install on a fresh server. you will support that install. You will find examples of code on the development server, that may assist you.
