Running CentOS /w cPanel on a VPS from OVH. Upgraded my storage size so my live boot partition needs expanding

Hi, I have a VPS with OVH.com. I originally purchased it with a cpanel installation on it. It came with 50gb. I recently started running out of storage so I upgraded the VPS to 100GB storage. There's now 50GB unallocated which needs to set to the main boot partition. Since this is the partition the whole server runs on, the server would need to be taken down and this would have to be done in rescue mode. We need as little downtime as possible as we have many projects running on the VPS. I'd prefer if someone just gave me instructions on what to exact do instead of sharing the log in information. As I know this isn't a lot of work and would require execution of just a few commands, the fixed price isn't high. Please respond how you'd approach this. I'm not going to be looking at automated/bots freelancer posts. Thank you in advance.

What i know is almost all VPS partitions comes with LVM and they can be extended without any downtime. Not sure what is making you to have a downtime. Can you post "df -h" output so that i can know if downtime is require or not. Will be able to start working on it right now.

hello i am experienced Linux admin, i can setup this for you. The steps depends on what's filesysytem do you have out there. If you have xfs on lvm it can be fixed without rebooting system just with max five commands. If there is another filesysytem reboot is necessary to rescue mode then we need to do another few commands depending on filesysytem.

The disk can be upgraded provided that it is configured as LVM. Also, we need to check few parameters before upgrading the disk or we end up crashing the whole server. Don't "go by manual/docs". Good day. Firstly, I don't think you want to allocate the new drive space to the boot mount point. Boot normally doesn't need to expand with the rest of the disk. Secondly, I don't think you need to take the server offline to increase the root drive space but I will need to confirm that. I recently added hard drive space for a Ubuntu server we are hosting and the client didn't ask us to start the machine in any strange way. This process should be a few command line steps to complete and shouldn't be a mission. Did they just allocate more disk space to your current disk space?
