Parse Ubuntu system mail and send to S3 -- 2

- read emails in /var/mail/$user (only one user)

- save one email per file

I can provide samples for both but it's a standard format.

Note that we have lot's of big emails with attachments (i.e. 10MB each and 2-3GB in total) and limited CPU so this needs to be quick.

Must be able to run as cron every few minutes (and finish!).

I saw this to parse emails:

Mail::Box::Parser::C

To save to S3 PHP or Python is fine (we have a working sample implementation) or even s3cmd is fine.

Hi, With your CPU limitation but need to be fast, script wont help much. Splitting mailbox file should be sufficient with standard GNU tools. Also, there is few s3cmd alternative out there, like rclone and/or minio. More
