Dear Ramona, thanks again for contacting me. I have been freelance writing for four years. I mostly compose blogs, essays, research pieces, news articles, and SEO content. Before that, I was a paralegal for nearly twenty years. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Paralegal Certificate. I believe such uniquely qualifies me for your position.
To reiterate, I was a paralegal for almost twenty years and worked for several prestigious law firms. I developed a chronic health condition, and, well, my employers thought it best that I seek work elsewhere. I always dreamed of writing, so I considered the situation fate. I remain grateful to my years in the legal profession as they taught me how to take direction, work under pressure, multitask, conduct research, pay close attention to detail, prioritize my workload, and adhere to strict deadlines. It also demanded above par work. As I’m sure you know, one won’t last long in the legal field without such skills.
As a freelance writer, I’ve enjoyed a variety of assignments. I’ve written pieces that focus on politics, fashion, beauty, health, parenting and family, travel, and interior decor, and current events. I never lost my passion for the law, however, and constantly seek legal writing opportunities. They are my favorite assignments.
If you go to my profile, you will find my writing resume, links to my legal writing samples, additional legal writing samples, and even more samples. Thank you.
