Fix countdown timer javascript code

Hello,
I have a custom countdown javascript code that needs fixed. It should do the following:
Start a count down timer once a vistior visits a page.
The time should be remembered using a cookie.
The cookie should only be alive for 24 hours
When timer reaches zero, it should stay at zero
Most everything listed above works except the cookie function seems to be broke. I'm looking for someone to fix it.
