My client has fruit orchard on their premise, and they currently have a hand drawn 'map' with numbered reference table for each of the fruits. (map attached)
They have an iPad mini onsite, and the ultimately goal is digitizing the map for viewing on the iPad and other iDevices (All modern iPads and iPhones).
There may be multiple follow on projects depending how this one goes, including the use of a 3D map and an Android version.
For this project, the map should behave like all common maps, with pinch style zooming, twisting of north direction and tap on each tree for a detailed info box. The map should also have a compass identifying north, a compass auto display twist which can be disabled with a tap, +/- zoom buttons and the business branding as a home button that resets to the default view. In addition, the users GPS position (if enabled) will be displayed on the map as a blue circle with an arrow indicating direction.
The data for the tables will be generated by an online SQL database (not part of this project), login details and table information will be supplied. The app should download the most recent database on install and store on the device, and regularly check for updates from the database when in use and connected to WiFi. This will allow the app to be managed remotely without the need for an admin view.
Example of database info that will be included;
Last update: 18/10/2015
Fruit ID: 1
Position ID: 1
Long: [url removed, login to view]
Lat: [url removed, login to view]
Scientific Name: Citrus reticulata
Description: These juicy fruits will rock your socks
Harvest time: All year
Xcode files should be supplied upon projection completion and project should be suitable for listing on the AppStore.
I am open to suggestions for alternatives, so please provide details in your bid and ensure you have clear milestones listed. Perhaps you can make a web app with some of the functionality, etc.
Adding further details in a pdf brief attached.
