Tweak existing iPhone app (audio)

I have an existing iPhone app that measures reaction time by flashing the screen and then listening for a sound. It shows the elapsed time in thousandths of a second.
However, something is keeping it from recording times that are less than .258 -- and some of the people who use this app have reaction times faster than that.
I need someone who can take the existing app and make it work so elapsed times less than .100 of a second will work.
The code for the entire app is attached to this bid request -- take a look and tell me whether you can fix the problem. (None of the code is to be used for anything other than to help bid the project.)
It may be as simple as changing the flow -- maybe the entire screen flash is being done before listening for the sound, in which case changing the flow to switch screen to white, start listening, then switch screen back to black might fix the problem. I'm not sure what the logic is at this time.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables):
a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

iPhone OS 3.0+ -- should also work with iPod touch using external microphone.
