This classified site will be integrated with an existing Spree Commerce site (running a 2-1-stable branch). You won't be required to work on the existing Spree site, but are required to have Gem dependencies around the same branch, so existing developers can integrate the two systems in the future. This will be provided when work has commenced.
A bootstrap template has already been sourced. It will be your job to integrate the Bootstrap template into a new rails site. The template supports responsive design, it is a requirement you ensure all features continue to support multiple screens and responds to each screen size accordingly.
Note, the existing Spree implementation already has all spree models used, therefore you will be required to create NEW models to support this project. You will also need to ensure all frameworks/gems selected align with a Spree implementation (eg: Devise for user authentication, etc).
The site will be hosted on Heroku, so any prospective workers need to be familiar deploying projects onto Heroku. You will be required to deliver the project in its complete form ready and available on Heroku at time of delivery.
You will also need to ensure all parts of the application support a typical Heroku environment (S3 for image hosting, Sendgrid for mail sending). These credentials will be provided when work has commenced.
All code will be required to be committed to a private repo on Bitbucket. All tasks will be tracked via Asana &/or JIRA.
The project will be focused around a 3-5 week timeline. You will be required to provide email daily updates, and regular Skype calls to show evidence of project progress. Payment will be based on an 8 hour day, 5 days a week for the 3-5 week period.
Exceptional English communication skills are required.
All project deliverables will be reviewed by an expert developer, therefore any prospective workers concerned about the level of quality they produce need not apply. In turn, all communication regarding the project will be of a technical nature and thus should allow for clear and open discussion on what is required from each deliverable.
You will also be required to sign an NDA before commencement of work.
Bonuses will be offered for those who can complete all deliverables on time, as specified by the requirements outlined, and to the quality expected. Note, we are strict with quality assurance, those who do not meet QA requirements will not be considered for bonuses.
Test cases for both front and backend (rspec, cucumber) code will be required.
Detailed requirements will be provided once prospective workers have been shortlisted.
To ensure you have the appropriate experience, please start your response with the following answers:
* How would you deface a spree homepage?
* Why would you use the jQuery live function?
* What is the best evidence of your skill-set (provide URLs)
* Why should I hire you? Eg: What is your best selling point vs. the next person I am reviewing?
