SVG blooming daffodil animation

We need an animation of a daffodil growing/blooming. The daffodil blooms/grows over time until reaching fully developed daffodil. We need to be able to control how long it takes for the daffodil to grow. We need to be able to increment the growth in steps. eg. incrementing growth in a loop programatically. The daffodil should look along the lines of what is attached, however there is no strict specification on how it must look.
