I have done a figure design for a scientific grant application that contains quite a lot of information, but is visually cluttered as a result. I have some ideas for how to improve it, but I am a scientist, not a graphic designer, so I don’t have the skills to make it look good, or the knowledge of how to do good visual design to convey complex information “beautifully”.
I have provided the figure draft, and inside the .zip file I have several slides in powerpoint, giving the rationale for the various components. I have also supplied the source data for various components of the image in .tiff, .ai and .xlsx form. Your task is to take my figure, and make it easier to understand, possibly using some of my further ideas, and your own.
The final figure should be a vector-graphic that I can paste into e.g. Powerpoint or Word documents - ideally SVG but .ai is acceptable. There is a part of the figure that is a raster image, which you are not expected to modify.
In making a bid, you must state the filenames included inside the zip file, so that I know that you have actually read this - if you do not state the filenames, I will know your bid is spam, and it will be ignored.
You should let me know any further questions you have on the additional materials, having read the powerpoint file and considered what is involved. I doubt this is a large task for someone with a good eye for graphic design, but I do not expect you to know all the science, so please ask if anything is unclear!
