There was once a little boy who lost his parents. The magistrate declared that the miller would take care of him.
The miller brought him home. His mean wife was unhappy and complained, “One more mouth to feed!”. Then the boy was told to mind the chickens.
A hawk flew way with the mother hen, and the boy was scolded and beaten and not given food. He tied all the chicks together. However, the hawk took those also.
Tired of been beaten, the boy ran away. In the churchyard, he found dome food to eat. He crawled into an open grave and slept. The cold night air chilled him and he died.
He turned into an angel and appeared before the miller and his wife. He said, “You shall never have your own child, for you are neither loving nor caring.”
The couple had to suffer, for being mean to children.
