The ORACOM Services online training platform is aimed at developing a quality human capital for globalised economy. Besides developing its own short courses, the organization will reach out to other institutions to utilize this platform to train a global clientele.
1. 3 Users: Administrator, Instructor and Trainee.
1a. Administrator Functionalities
i. Add users (superadmin, trainer, learner) which will generate a system generated unique code to be shared with the users to access (sign up) the platform; once a client makes an application, the administrator admits them by giving them the auto generated code (registration/admission no), the client pays via the platform, once payment is confirmed by the administrator s/he enables the client/trainee to go ahead to sign into the course/training dash board.
ii. Activate and deactivate users;
iii. Add courses (course name, category, description, course code, price, time limit) save and select users (save course and add content) ;
iv. Put an announcement (internal and external);
v. Add groups;
vi. Import and export information (e.g. handouts, templates, evaluation forms in different media including, word documents, audios and videos;
vii. Add notifications like assignments, grading, certification; Generate reports (scheduling reports intervals, reports users, feedback, courses);
viii. Account and settings;
ix. Receive and send messages: Inbox, sent, outbox within the platform/accounts (such that an administrator, instructor and trainee can message each other).
x. The platform should be such that an administrator can enable or disable (default) auto generation of certificates. The auto-generation functionality should only take place if the course had been enabled to and after meeting all the requisite conditions including step by step passing of assignments. One should not be able to progress from stage 1 to stage 2 if they have not satisfactory passed the set evaluation.
1b. Instructor Functionalities
i. Create a user profile using the administrator’s sent unique access code;
ii. Add course contents;
iii. Add groups;
iv. Hold conferences: enable video and audio conferencing facilities. e.g The instructor can upload a video to explain a concept....
v. Hold discussions: Two people live chats and group chats (Discussions); An instructor can open a discussion by posting a question for a group discussion. Everyone including instructor
