painless company logo rebrand

I am rebranding a company logo and have a simple, basic idea for how to do so. I'm open to new ideas, but previous designers have told me that half the battle is having an idea to start with and I have that so hopefully this project is on the painless end of the spectrum. A copy of the original letterhead with the company logo/tagline is attd (LimeLigh_Letterhead02). It was done in about 30 minutes and is very basic. However, Limelight has expanded beyond just a pr firm to being a full publisher now with film included so I want to add a lighting element to the logo to play off of Limelight. So my idea was to scrap the previous green ball logo and replace it with one that has a light - klieg or stadium lights - shining down on the company name of Limelight Media Group (no longer Limelight Communications). I have attd various stadium lights or klieg lights. It will help that you know what Limelight is -- Limelight Media Group is a next generation book publisher that creates multi-platform projects that blur the lines between traditional books to enhanced books to interactive games to phone apps and specialized web sites and beyond. In short, Limelight has solved the riddle vexing publishing for years: "where is book publishing going?" Limelight's books cross mediums (print, internet, cell phone, ipad, etc) and focus on these topics: sports, humor and pop culture. So the logo should reflect that, but I also truly believe in simplicity of design.
Lastly, I have also attd an image of a first draft of how the words "Limelight Media Group" are stacked. I am not locked into that at all. I only attd that as the only other image I can provide to share the vision I've had so far. If you have a better vision let's see what you have.
The tagline for the company has changed too. "Are You Exposed?" has changed to "The Digital Future of Publishing".
I have some big meetings later this month with my bank so I would like to have the logo finalized by Oct 1.
