Hi there. I'd love to do this for you. In terms of why I'm the strongest candidate, I have a degree in Creative Writing and have previously written fantasy and science fiction novels and novellas - including Song of Swords: Broken Worlds, which is currently being sold on Amazon (see extract in the Portfolio section of my Profile on this site - a larger sample is available on request). In addition to this, I have recently written screenplays for two visual novels which have now been released on the Moments: Choose Your Story app for Android and iOS devices; "Of Lovers Past" (over 228,000 Favourites so far) & "Vampire Queen" (over 70k Favourites from the first eight chapters). I love fantasy fiction, such as Fritz Leiber's Swords series and the Dragon Lance novels. The Witcher short stories were also fun. In a way, I'm absolutely jealous that you're taking your gift and seeing it through. I found out, rather late in life, that I had a hidden talent for art/painting. Unfortunately I was not brave enough to dedicate 100% of my time in order to see it flourish. I'm sure you have received many impressive proposals, on paper, at least. Here's why you need to work with me: this is your baby. You need a writer who can immerse themselves in your headspace, unafraid to explore anything and everything. You need raw passion that sets your comic apart, why settle for a good writer when you can have a great one? I'm studying law purely to save the planet from companies like Monsanto - in a way, my desire to live out the superhero fantasy will take place in a courtroom without the fancy garb. My favourite author is probably Michael Crichton, there's something terrifying about the way he weaves himself into your life. I could say Asimov or Wells but, hands down, Crichton's work does not require intense focus to understand the story, and there're no airs or graces (bullshit basically) surrounding his manuscripts. I'm well-versed with the culture of Los Angeles, given that I lived there for the past seven years when I was employed at Warner Brothers. The bottom line is that excellence will be recognized, whether it comes from one with an Ivy League background or not. I currently have a pilot that I created in development with a small production company based in LA. I don't know if it will ever be produced, but most writers exist on the edge like this. If you hire me, I would like a 10% milestone upfront to cover the fee that Freelancer charges. I am an American expat living in The Netherlands, but I am more than willing to adapt my schedule to fit yours for Skype sessions. I have been involved in collaborative projects before involving multiple writers in which we used a combination of Skype and WriterDuet (both are free) to do line-edits in real time. A few years ago, a small production company selected me to adapt a graphic novel into a screenplay. The graphic novel was called Jeremiah Harm. The deal fell through and I assume it is stuck in development hell.
