AMERICA's SEARCH & RESCUE CAPABILITIES IN CRISIS (fundraising project)

SEEKING A FUNDRAISING PROFESSIONAL -- THIS IS A COMMISSION ONLY OPPORTUNITY 42.5% commission will be paid from funds raised over our minimum goal amount of $14,500.00. The Project: Pleas for search and rescue efforts total more than 1000 per year, up about 35% from the previous decade (source; NASAR, FEMA, AKC). How many search and rescue dogs are there? About 259. Of these specially trained dogs there about 30 that are further trained for search and rescue on land and/or water. It isn't just about the intense training, these few, are very special and unique. Not just any dog can do this. The training investment in each team dog/handler; not only is it grueling and intense, it is costly, $42,000-$55,000. We will always need search and rescue dogs, except when we don't. We all hope we never require these highly specialized services. But try and explain to one of your loved ones in need when help comes too late or not at all. This is about so much more than just a few dogs and their handlers. It's about communities, it's about families, it's about children, it's about rare teams of special, highly trained dogs being able to respond to emergencies that can affect the ones you care about, your loved ones, your community, providing hope during one of their darkest hours and desperate cries for help during an unimaginable moment of crisis. With search and rescue demands increasing by 12% each year (source; NASAR, FEMA), the USA alone currently needs at least 450 trained teams for adequate response. The US has less than 200 exceptional trained, experienced handler/dog teams. (source; NASAR, FEMA). Service requests come from individual citizens, local law enforcement, county services, private security, corporate, the federal government, Coast Guard, Department of Defense, FEMA, Red Cross, emergency medical facilities, shipping and transportation companies.
