My project is fracture analysis of the robotic arm (cantilever beam made of aluminium) under impact loading. Rate-dependent fracture has been extensively studied using the cohesive zone model (CZMs). My work needs a mixed-mode rate-dependent CZM that combines the features of the Park-Paulino-Roesler (PPR) cohesive model and a fractional viscoelastic model to derive a rate-dependent mixed-mode CZM. The robotic arm is modeled using Cohesive Zone Modelling (CZM) using ABAQUS software. The aims to study the behavior of cohesive zone interface using ABAQUS for the aluminum element under impact loading. In this work, we incorporate damage in the cohesive element under impact loading and crack propagation are studied under impact loading with the help of user-defined UEL subroutine for symmetrical surface.
