I work in the container shipping industry. Currently we are receiving Terminal Departure Reports (TDRs) from terminals all over the world after a port of call. My company is adopting a global standard format known as the TPFREP, where it can be uploaded into our systems either in EDI or excel format. However, not all terminals in the world today are able to produce the TDRs in the TPFREP format, hence a number of locations worldwide are still sending their TDRs in their own formats. The task is to be able to write a VBA code to convert the TDRs from those terminals not able to support TPFREP, into the standardized TPFREP template (either in excel or EDI formats). To do this, the macro must be generic enough to read a variety of formats from the terminals, pick up the right information to populate the TPFREP template so that it can be uploaded.
