I have an interesting problem I'm hoping one of you fine Freelancers will be able to assist with.
I need to fill out 4 separate templates (the targets Tabs 2 through 5) based off of values found in a Single template (the source in Tab 1).
I think this can be accomplished using a macro of some kind. But the catch is, the macro CAN NOT work off of cell position, I need it to work off of cell contents because the "target" templates come in many variations and today the "TITLE" field (for instance) may be in A4, and tomorrow it can be in A8. Same thing with the source template. Today "TITLE" may be in A2, tomorrow it could be in A6. It really all depends.
One positive factor in this, is they will always be in the same row, only the column may change from one day to another. Also, they are called different things across different templates, so TITLE in the source may be called "MAIN_TITLE" in Target 1, "ProductNAME" in Target 2, etc. etc. To that end, I've already mapped out the fields which your macro would need to match. We're looking at about 17 total (that may increase).
So to take one quick example out of the 17 total. Your macro needs to identify "TITLE" in the Source, copy all cells in that column beneath it into a field called "MAIN_TITLE" in Target 1, then that same info into "ProductNAME" in Target 2, "TITLE" in target 3, and "ShortTitle" in target 4. But as I stated, the columns in which all of these fields exist WILL change in both the source and target, and your macro needs to work off of the field header names, not the absolute position.
It's kind of simple so I don't want to overexplain. I will happily discuss this in more detail with anyone interested.

HI, I can help you with this interesting project. Taking advantage that the fields are already mapped between source and target sheets, it can be done using a VBA macro.
I was thinking to create a settings sheet in your Excel file where you can place the field mapping, so, if it changes in the future, you can update it easily.
If you like, I can put a button in the ribbon or in the new settings sheet where you can trigger the macro.

I read through the details job post. Would be great if a sample is also shared. I got the requirement. Row Remains same, but the Title will be Dynamic. There are about 17 different expected Title Names which the macro should identify. I have done similar tasks in the past and can start off right now. It is possible to check the row index in a particular column for the content and particular row can used to pick other columns to pick other required columns.i can share more if you wish
