Modeling a data warehouse schema Assignments From the description of the domain, given below, elaborate the following tasks: • Model a data warehouse (dw) schema that consists of a set of star-join schemas • Implement the dw schema in a database management system, e.g. MS ACCESS or MS SQLServer and populate the database. And formulate two SQL-queries. • Answer (discuss) four questions Task-description: Model a dw schema In this task you shall model a dw schema consisting of a set of star-join schemas. Each star-join schema consists of a fact and several dimensional tables, see fig. 1. The fact table shall represent a business event and consists of foreign keys (FK) from the surrounding dimension tables and attributes representing facts with values that can be summarized on the fly, see the figure 1 below. The dimension tables represent different multidimensional views or perspectives on the business event. For each dimension table you shall create a primary key (PK), see the figure 1 below. Please notice that the dimension tables are not necessarily normalized to 3NF.
