We are creating a map with data to help those in need find the help they need. We need to fill out an excel spreadsheet with street address, city, State, Zip, phone number, Website, Food Shelf Name, Services provided (x mark in category), Description (Hours, Days Open, Restrictions, Requirements. Currently, we are using the information on food [login to view URL] and entering the data for each state and city. Currently, we have Minnesota half done. There are some duplicates whoever entered the data might have been scamming the owners of foodpantries.org. We are also using data from homeless shelter directory for shelters and data from women shelter directory. We are going to use the data to create an interactive map with filters that will allow those in need to select filters such as food, shelter, showers, clothing, transportation and find those who are able to help them. We are also allowing people to register themselves on the map and provide any of those services to those in need. If you have a spare room, car, shower, clothing or would just like to share a meal and get to know them you can select the services you are able to provide and be contacted in a similar fashion as craigslist. The website is [login to view URL] and is currently under construction. We will work with a believer in Jesus Christ who has a heart for the poor and who is not in willful sin. Please follow the link for an example map for an idea of what the map will look like. The real map will be custom coded and will have better filter options with custom forms allowing people to personally a force for good in people's lives. It takes roughly 2 to 3 minutes to enter a shelter into the database. We have attached the database spreadsheet for reference. Please make a copy and start a new state.
