Los otros animalitos del bosque eran muy juguetones pero la ardilla no quería jugar con ellos, el día que decidió salir a jugar el pájaro le dijo que no, porque siempre que la invitaban ella se reía de ellos, la ardilla sintió ganas de llorar y comenzó a gritarles a todos que eran unos egoístas, el zorro se enfureció tanto que lanzo a la ardilla al río pero la ardilla no salía a flote ¡se estaba ahogando! El pájaro y el zorro salieron corriendo pero la tortuga que tenía un temperamento muy fuerte no dudo en ir a su rescate y corrió rio abajo hasta q la vio, la ardilla flotaba como podía y la tortuga le rescato, entonces ambos empezaron a caminar pero la ardilla se alejó y ni las gracias dio. Pasaron las semanas y la ardilla salió un día a buscar nueces al mercado, allí se encontró con la tortuga que la saludo, pero la ardilla no contesto, más tarde se acordó de lo que había hecho la tortuga por ella, así que decidió irla a ver para regalarle unas nueces que había comprado para comerlas esa noche, cuando se acercó a su casa algo estaba pasando, el zorro y el pájaro estaban afuera de su puerta planeando asustarla y hacerla correr porque sabían que era muy lenta, la ardilla se acercó y les pidió que se fueran pero el pájaro dijo que no se metiera, entonces la pequeña ardilla que antes había sido cruel con su héroe tortuga comenzó a lanzar nueces a los dos malvados, y cuando tortuga salió a ver qué pasaba el zorro se la comió de un bocado, ambos el pájaro y el zorro echaron a correr, la ardilla que no sabía que hacer lloro al no poder darle las grcias, y se fue a su casa a seguir siendo la misma ardilla corajuda y aislada.
