Proofread English

Maybe I don't qualify, as I am not in one of the named countries. However, English is my first language and my skills include technical writing, editing and proofreading. I registered with Freelancer in February this year and have 30 reviews, all positive. I have ongoing freelance work editing papers for an online journal for translators and interpreters. I recently edited a 65,000-word science fiction novel and the client was so pleased with my work that he has commended me to Freelancer. Other recent work has included proofreading five theses, as well as individual chapters of academic writing. For two years I was a copy editor for Elsevier Science Publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, rewriting text by authors who were not native English speakers. I have worked with individual clients to bring 12 books to publication and three of these clients have rehired me to work on a second book. Having been a teacher of English in high school for several years, I have spent many hours making corrections and suggestions for students' essays. For an additional two years I was a teacher of English as a second language.
