I have 40+ years’ experience with COBOL on various platforms: ICL, IBM, Siemens mainframes using ISAM, VSAM, IDMS, DB2, Oracle, SQL; Linux, UNIX and Windows PCs using Microfocus COBOL. I have extensive experience of designing and developing commercial systems, including payroll and accounting systems, in COBOL. I still maintain and update a packaged payroll system, which I developed and sold to about 50 companies for weekly and monthly payments. I am familiar with RPG2, but have not used it for many years. I recently was a member of a team of 10 specialists doing conversions of mainframe systems to distributed (Linux and Unix) servers. Converted approx. 2,600 Natural ADABAS programs to COBOL with ORACLE database. Converted about 1,200 COBOL programs from ADABAS database and VSAM files to COBOL with ORACLE database. Converted 250 COBOL programs using ADABAS database to Microsoft SQL database. All conversions were completed on schedule. I also have extensive experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access), Visio, Visual Studio.
