We have a SHP + DBF File with shapes of ZIP codes of germany that is too detailed and too complex. we need a reduced version with much less detailed shapes. The current file size of the shp is about 15MB and should be less than 500kB. The assignment of the shapes to the first 2 diggets of the zip must be maintained. there should not be any "white spaces" between the shapes. the shapes can be downloaded here: [login to view URL] file: [login to view URL] Please mention the word: PLZ in your proposal if you have read and understood the task and you are sure you can do the job

PLZ Hi. It's already done. 465 kb on my HFS file system. My understanding is to keep the first two digits that go with each shape and that simplification must not result in any white spaces. I went ahead with [login to view URL] and also added the dbf file for the digit data. Then used QGIS to import the file and re-export it so as to generate the prj file with the datum information. I can send you the reduced zip if you wish. If you wish to try by yourself with [login to view URL] then that is also fine with me. A simple "thank you" will be more than enough in that case.
