Excel or Access script

I am very proficient in c and c++. I have 16 years c++ developing experience now, and have worked for more than 6 years. My work is online game developing, and mainly focus on client side, using c++ under windows environment. I understand that you have a spreadsheet with names formatted "LastName FirstName" and that you would like to group together by LastName and concatenate the FirstNames using commas, so that in each row you have "LastName FirstName1, FirstName2, ...". You would like to have an Excel or Access script (Access probably cleaner, but Excel more convenient) to do this so that it can be run on future lists. I realize that you've a list of firstNames secondNames, and you want to get them together in a form, where every unique firstName appears only once, followed by all other secondNames, separated by cells. I can do that while maintaining a list in python script, reading the excel file, appending the last names, and in the end, once I have all the lists, I'll export that data as it is into an excel sheet.
