We want to develop a central management system that will involve the management of many different systems, databases and websites. For a start we first want to build a "member area" according the following. - Admin can add, delete and manage the database fields for members. (Thus, except for basic details such as Member ID, name, surname, email address and password admin can add, edit or delete fields such as, authentication level, category, status, tel number, domain etc. This additional fields are thus sort of dynamic and can be changed at will.) (A potential easy way to do this is to just create field1, field2, field3 up to field 30 and work from this with updateable “name” for this field so regardless whether the name is “User Fax” system side the field stay field 1 etc) - Admin can add, edit and manage user authentication levels. - An important factor of this system is that the layout must be designed in such way that it's easy to expand the system with more and more features etc. To give you a clear picture of what we want to do VISUALIZE the following EXAMPLE. · We have a client billing and management site where clients can register and order products and services. · We have 10 different business websites such as hosting · We have 10 content rich news / marketing websites · We have 10 listing websites such as classifieds, business directory, dating website etc · We have an online collaboration system Instead than manage and control each website / system individually, the way we want to manage this and be able to include more and more websites and systems etc is as follows. - From the billing and management system the client email, username and password is populated to and synchronized with the member area. (and from there synchronized with all the other websites) - The content of all websites is dynamic so a staff member can login to the member area and then add, change and manage the CONTENT of for example the business websites or any other websites according his/her permission level. - For example just ONE Privacy Policy that can be changed by an admin level member and ALL the websites will then have the Privacy Policy changed. - A client can login to member area and then add, edit or delete a listing or post an article according his approved level. - A staff member can login and check his due tasks (pulled from the online collaboration system) or change the daily specials on website xx and yy. So, instead than manage tens or hundreds of different websites (members, content, listings) everything is managed from the central management system. IMPORTANT A very important requirement is that this whole system must be AS EASY AS PIE to navigate and work with. As an example go to [login to view URL] register and appreciate the ease of use of the system please. We want something similar. Requirements “Member area” as easy to manage and to “add” or “enable” more features as with above wiki system. Strict security – This system must be secured like hell as it will contains data of several important (like web hosting) things such as login details etc. Ability to easily add or remove features (other systems, databases, affiliate system etc) so that this member area of the central management system is the ONLY place where a client, staff member or admin need to login to add, edit or change content of different websites, participate in online collaboration system (for staff members), place listings or manage their member profile etc. The way this would link to or integrate with other systems is via either cron jobs (to pull or push data between the different systems or action hooks in this or other systems. Just imagine yourself you have 10 different systems, business listing, a website with content, online collaboration system, affiliate system, online billing system etc. Now, instead than to let clients and staff login to the different websites and learn how to work with it, you just integrate the different systems database side with the member area so that they can login to this member area and manage everything from there. You will notice from above wiki link that it's a really very easy to use member area so you will understand with such base system, it will be much, much easier for admin, staff and clients to manage different / linked / integrated things and systems etc.
