Sixty year non-profit that is in need of a revamped approach to fundraising that is sustainable. The yearly science fair held in conjunction with the Chicago Public Schools is a vehicle and major conduit for selection of students interested in pursuing one of the possible "STEM" educations in college and a related profession afterwards. Last year over $120,000 in scholarships were awarded for students throughout Chicago (Walter Payton Prep, Lane Tech, Lindblom, etc.).
We currently have corporate sponsors such as BP, Motorola, etc. We also have participation of funding from several Board members.
I have been involved with the organization for over 10 years, currently the President until June 2019. I have a technical background, both academics and profession.
The Board is looking for a fund raising professional that can design an approach to hit a $100,000 target over the next "School year". Our current budget is approximately $300,000.
The Board is willing to have a structure such that the Fundraising professional earns a percent of the funds raised.
