£10-15 GBP / hour

In the current pandemic, we've set up a community across 10 cities where bloggers who are mothers and fathers are sharing their pandemic experiences to help others benefit from their quarantine learnings and experiences. For the launch, we'd like to find bloggers with families who will share their experiences daily across 6 category themes: 1. Resources (access to supplies such as food, medicine, services...) 2. Working (from home) 3. Parenting (including home schooling) 4. Relationships (at home) 5. Body (how are you feeling physically) 6. Mind (what’s your outlook, pandemic mental health) You can see via the attachment how we'll capture your feelings across the 6 categories using a -3 to +3 scale of panic to positive. If you're a blogger with a family who is comfortable blogging about their daily life at home, we'd love to hear from you. The first step will be you scoring from -3 to +3 for each of the six categories above. Please visit [login to view URL] to see an early version of the site. Looking forward to hearing from you, Sarah and Jason

I’m in lockdown in the Lynedoch Eco Village between Stellenbosch and Khayelitsha, about 40km outside of the Cape Town historic centre, and midway between two of the greatest economic extremes South Africa has, with incredible wealth concentrated in Stellenbosch, and incredible poverty in Khayelitsha (there’s a burgeoning middle class there too, but that’s a topic for one of the blog entries). We are a community of about 100 people, of very different race, language and economic realities. So we are unusual in South Africa, and our collective experience of the pandemic is also unusual I think. My family situation is complicated. I’m here with my wife and two kids. My son is 9 and my daughter is 5. The complication is that my wife and I are recently separated, and my tourism business has been killed by COVID. We are staying together during the lockdown to co-parent. Outside of the lockdown, I’ve been living in an apartment nearby, and coming in for certain parts of the day to take care of the kids, cook, hang out etc And so now, living together again is incredibly tense for me and my wife, but its been great for the kids to have us both in the same place and have a semblance of normal family life. So the COVID situation is very tangibly playing out multiple extremes in my life, in our lives. Tense relationship stuff, anxiety around finances and fiscal survival... SCORING 1. Resources +3 2. Working +1 3. Parenting +2 4. Relationships -3 5. Body -1 6. Mind -2

Good day, Please allow me to start off by mentioning that, although I am not a regular blogger as such, I have excellent writing skills, and am proficient in both English UK and US, as can be seen on my Freelancer Exams list I have completed. Currently, we are under our second week of quarantine, and I can relate to all the experiences you mentioned in the brief seeing as I work from home (both my wife and I work for ourselves), and have two children, both in high school... Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me for further discussion. Kind regards, Daniel M.

Greetings, Hello and GoodDay, I think I am the perfect blogger for this job, because i fit into all 6 of the above categories, I am a work from home, mom, in a stressed relationship because of the lockdown, and when I am not tearing my hair out, the kids are not bouncing off the walls and my husband and I finally get to spend a min together... well generally we fall asleep! I think I could definitely give an acute insight into the daily life of an average mom, in the midst of this pandemic. Thanks Devine

I am into blogging and social media with six years of experience in online marketing and communication. In my current position as a freelance blogger I maintain a personal blog and manage every aspect of seeing that it runs smoothly including content writing promotion through social media and other methods communicating with brand representatives and public relations professionals maintaining ad space and responding to reader comments. I am well-versed in the multitasking elements of managing social media accounts and I have tremendous time management and organizational capabilities. My communication skills are outstanding both through written and verbal means; I work hard to always ensure all necessary parties are informed and in the loop. I have a great love and passion for social media because it brings people from all over the world together; I thoroughly enjoy communicating with people of different backgrounds.

I am a writer who lost his job due to COVID-19 and the pandemic currently. I used to work for a company called Valnet who had to make some serious changes, including a cut in pay from an executive level. Our family is under lockdown which is basically being placed under quaranteen. I am also a grandfather and parent who can relate to what everyone worldwide is going through right now.

I have written, proofread and edited many articles and essays over the course of both my academic and freelance career. I have also achieved a distinction of 90% for my final portfolio assignment as part of my studies (that’s over 30000 words without a single typo or grammatical error! Weird for a student I know). I currently also help run and manage a blog online :) I am incredibly excited to do this job and contribute to this great idea! Best Alex

Hi, I am a 25 year old, male, sharing a house with 5 other young professionals. Two of my housemates left to go spend lockdown elsewhere, the dj and the bartender. This leaves me, the online English tutor with *Rob, the security programmer, fervently working from home in the midst of an economic meltdown, his girlfriend, *Anja, the jewelry design student who came to spend lockdown with us, and *PJ, the freelance photographer. Along with my two dogs Arthur and Shenzi we're each doing our own thing to try to get through this sitcom simulation. Stuck in the middle of Stellenbosch. These are weird, weird times. I believe everyone is faced with the same struggle of having their curated routines smashed to bits, and we're all left in the desert, with very little face to face validation that what we're doing is right, or matters. I would love to share my experience of this whole ordeal with you.

* Having raised four kids and living with my son and grandchildren ,I know how to budget for a family and where to find the food and medicine. With modern technology you can see if the shops are open, what time they are open and closed and react very fast in an emergency situation. * I am a retired language teacher who has never stopped working and presently offer online lessons in Mathematics, French and Afrikaans. The ages of the people I teach differ from 12 years to 65 years. The latter is an university student who studies French and is a professor in psychology. I have also an interest in handy crafts and sell my stuff on markets from time to time. I have a lot of friends and like to be up to date with the experiences of my fellow citizens. * I do home schooling with my two grand children and am aware of the means we use. We maintain a good routine and are disciplined in studying. * I stay with my son, have excellent relationships with my 3 daughters and have good relationships with lots of different people I know. * Physically I am feeling healthy after being diagnosed with colon cancer last year and overcoming that. * In my mind I am extremely positive.I am either aware of the dangers of the Covid-19 virus and do not take any risks. Overall I think I can do the job. Please consider my application.

Semi-retired with energy/passion for work, live in Cape Town with wife Zanet (4 married children, 2 in UK, 5 grandchildren). While not blogger, am a positive thinking writer, with sense of inner calm and knowhow/experience to deal with adverse situations (like now). Can share on themes - working (home, as i do), parenting (children/grandchildren, so important now), relationships (flourishing), body (caringly, as intricate part of Body/Mind/Spirit system, to feel well physically), and mind (feel well emotional, physically & spiritually). Also write inspirational songs (YouTube - jonny noordhoek). Can help people feel better when down/depressed (experience). Zanet is good at blogging and connecting daily with family and friends (also great mother/grandmother). As Team, we make good bloggers, keen to share our extended family’s pandemic experiences, to help others and advise as appropriate. I have the listed skills required. While still working part-time, my career spans >30 years in project/business management (Integrated Logistic Support solutions for complex systems (Maritime/Aircraft)). Besides PM responsibilities (incl. writing Proposals/Implementation Plans), my focus is always effective documentation (my role – editing & final QA). Also do content editing for DHL U.S. Newsletter (2.5 years now). Throughput career, writing/editing have been core skills and strengths. Hardworking, meticulous and thorough, i continue to look for opportunities.
