Using the attached files (my pins are setup this way) Create Automatic Cutter control for rolled materials The following variables.... StartDelay (No cutting begins until this amount of time from bootup of Arduino board) CutDelay (Set for a second, should be able to change in code) DelayAfterCut (Set for a second, should be able to change in code) Qty (Qty to be cut that user enters) Length (length to cut to) CutCount (keep track of number of cuts made) ReverseMaterial (A length that is in code what material can be moved away from hot blade) StepsPerInch (used to convert inches to Steps) The following libraries accelstep.h LiquidCrystal.h Keypad.h System Design 1. System turned on, in code allow me to set delay before cutting begins, ie: 5 minutes, should allow setup but will not start until StartDelay complete 2. Ask User "How many pieces" (Entered on keypad, press # to confirm, * acts as backspace 3. Ask User "What Length" (Enter on keypad, D for decimal to allow [login to view URL], # to confirm) 4. Press button to start (program will get input from Arduino Mega pin 22 5. Check if StartDelay is complete, if so proceed otherwise wait here 6. First Cut to zero material, Output to pin 23, with CutDelay, when complete continue, 7. Run Stepper backwards by length from [ReverseMaterial] then wait [DelayAfterCut] before proceeding 6. Update Display , Line 1-- [qty] at [length], Line 2-- Total Cut = [CutCount] 7. USing Accelstepper, Run Stepper to [Length]+[ReverseMaterial] 8. Once at [Length]+[ReverseMaterial], Output to pin 23 w [CutDelay] wait till finished 9. USing Accelstepper, Run Stepper backwards by length from [ReverseMaterial] then wait [DelayAfterCut] before proceeding 8. Update Display [CutCount] 9. Go back to step 6 until [CutCount] = [qty] 10. Go Back to step 2 See Attached "BaseCode"

Timothy Woolaver Electrical Engineering Consultant Thank you for your consideration of this proposal. This proposal is for the creation of an Arduino program to control a stepper driven curring mechanism with a keypad and LCD interface. I have used all of these libraries on other projects. I downloaded your code and after commenting out some things , getting rid of the redefinition of setup and loop, and rearranging it a bit, it compiles and downloads to a Mega. About half of my business is Arduino projects. Most of them are to turn Arduino designs in to custom PCBs. All of them involve code development and many are motor driver applications. (steppers and brushed DC motors). I have all of the hardware to make a setup to test this except for this type of LCD. I have an I2C version which could be used to test with. I am an Electrical engineer with 25+ years of experience. I have designed and modified the designs of many products and PCBs during my career. Please view my profile to see if my qualifications may meet your needs. Thank you again for your consideration and feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have. Thank You Timothy Woolaver Electrical Engineering Consultant

I routinely work with Arduinos, keypads, LCDs and stepper motors. I can see there may be safety considerations with the system you have specified and my fee reflects the certain knowledge that the design might need slight alterations. Many thanks for taking the time to read my proposal. Clive, CEO, Programify (UK based)
