I have installed moodle before and I've actually collaborated with my university's IT department to install moodle into 5 different servers. What we did was use 1 server for cron jobs, 2 for database and 2 for the moodle installation itself. It handled the load during exam times pretty well.

Hi, depending on the level of customization of Moodle platform that you need, this job should take op to one week. But, if the customization is extensive and time consuming, this could be longer. Without the detailed instruction I can't make a precise deadline. Getting the VMs up and running should be fairly easy, depending on your requests. I would like to get more details about VMs and Moodle customization in order to give you a better time frame for the job.
