Cloud Strategy & Design – Migrating from a Dedicated/Hybrid Solution - 30/04/2018 12:54 EDT

We’re a small team looking for a cloud strategy specialist to collaborate and advise on AWS services and architecture. The project is to help the team make informed decisions around service selection in order to design a new environment as part of a migration away from a dedicated/hybrid solution with another provider. You will have a great deal of influence on the direction of the project whilst working in collaboration directly with the production team. The work will involve a number of sessions planned to be spread over May to September 2018, however the bulk of your involvement will be during May. You will need to be able to attend online meetings (or in-person, if practical), providing guidance and information during discussion or as a follow-up. Meetings will be based on a London time zone working day, however we are flexible in terms of working hours and location (remote working). For this project, you will have extensive experience working with AWS. You will be comfortable advising on best practice, drawing from your experience working on past projects. Specific areas of interest will include: - Network & service design (translating existing dedicated/hybrid infrastructure to provider-specific cloud infrastructure) - How AWS helps SaaS businesses handle security & privacy compliance (both during assessment/adoption and ongoing) - AWS best practices for design relating to security - AWS infrastructure log aggregation monitoring (and alerting) - AWS approach to design for high availability - Disaster recovery and business continuity Essentially, we’re looking for an outside party with first-hand knowledge to help design and validate the new environment for our SaaS product.
