I need example workable application and documentation for the following running on IBM i (AS/400):
a) Java application (Running on i5/OS)
Application should continually listen to a data queue called "INDQ" for incomming 'requests'. Whenever a 'request' is put (from another application) in the data queue the application should read it, prepend "Hello '" and append "'!" to the string and return it on the "OUTDQ" and look for the next incomming 'request'.
b) ILE/RPG application (Running on i5/OS)
Application should do the following:
- Take one parameter 'name' as input.
- Put value of name (fx. "John Doe") in the data queue "INDQ" (which is then read by the above mentioned Java application).
- Wait for return message on data queue "OUTDQ".
- Print out the returned message (fx. "Hello 'John Doe'!") to the console.
System requirements:
- V5R4
- V6R1
- V7R1
- Java 5
- Java 6
- Java 7
The system already have Java setup in various versions as per system requirement and I'm system administrator (all rights).
The developer should create documentation (step-by-step) for the following:
- How to create the data queue "INDQ" and "OUTDQ".
- How to create and compile the Java application.
- How to create and compile the ILE/RPG application.
- How to test the setup.
- Which files (source, members etc.) associated with the above are located where?
