Application to replace Windows 7 login screen

We would like to develop an application that interacts with Windows 7 Login information, username and password. As far as we know, in Windows XP it was done using GINA : [[login to view URL]<wbr />Graphical_identification_and_<wbr />authentication][1] . This is what we want to accomplish but for Windows 7. This application must allow us to change the logo in the login screen, and also in the future, let us add new security features like fingerprint checking. But you don't need to develop the fingerprint part, just inform where we need to insert code in order to allow the application to use the biometric features.
