Convert a Tumblr template to add widgets and tag categories

My current Tumblr blog is [login to view URL] I like the framework for this template with the pop out sidebar, but I don't like the layout within. I'd like to add pictures and social media widgets as well as a list of tags. The tags would show up as the intro links instead of "Ask" "Archive" "Random." I'd also like to remove the date and notes from posts so that the text is closer to the top. The screenshots included are examples of what I'd like the intro, date removal, and sidebar to look like.
