Add paypal adaptive payment API to exsisting rails app

Hi, I have an exsisting rails application that I am developing however I am having some trouble navigating paypals API documentation and successfully making calls with adaptive payments. I require a chained parallel payment setup that I use in a 'crowdfunding' style setup. There are some reasonably good gems available on github etc that I'd consider using. I have all the required api information from paypal, just need to set it up. Please make your offer with a run-down of how you will achieve this task (gems etc) Thanks
