I have experience in developing UI's in VB6 and in creating database-driven software. Please review my work history for examples of VB6 and .Net forms-based projects that I have completed.
From my reading of your specifications, I understand that you will need a VB6 application that can connect to a SQL database and draw from it sales ticket information based on a date criteria (a single date - not a date range). The data will be used to generate emails that may include a discount coupon. Multiple email 'types' (email text / bodies) must be supported. The set of possible emails to be sent to a single customer is determined by the department number found on the customer's sales ticket. The user can select the email type to be sent from the set of email types presented by the VB application.
Based on your brief description, I see that the application users will have 2 choices to make via the UI:
1. Date
2. Email type for each sales ticket processed.
There should also be a button to start a process that will send a discount coupon to the email recipient(s).
All this should be able to reside on 1 panel / form.
