Create a Video

This assignment requires you to create a 1 minute animated film that represents your interpretation of a spatial narrative based on a single quote taken for your dissertation readings/research. You could, for example, select a quote you like from one of the books you are currently reading for your dissertation, even though you may not use this quote in your final dissertation. The film can include any form of spatial typology: intimate/mental, personal, social, public space. You will need to be able to explain your choice of quote and produce a corresponding spatial narrative developed through scenographic techniques that will be introduced in the studio. You will be required to practice and explore these further as part of your self-directed learning in order to develop your animated film. The narrative can follow standard storytelling rules or you can choose a more abstract representation. As part of the project you are required to keep a logbook that records all stages of the project’s development and processes, including evidence of exercises/tests and participation at crits. The logbook should introduce the project with a rationale that explains your choice of quote and corresponding narrative.
