Hi, I've been working with VMware for a couple of years and have experience with VMware SDK for Perl and PowerCLI. I can quickly implement such a script for you. Just maybe a few questions. Do VMs need to be moved across ESXi hosts as well? Are you using a vCenter or ESXi hosts are stand-alone? Any other requirements for your task? Regards,

Hello, I'm happy to inform you that I actually did implemented this procedure in migrating VMs from one Resource Pool to another using VSphere PowerCLI. My proposal offers a solution that guarantees to: 1. Accomplish the tasks of creating a powercli script to migrate vms to resource pool as per your requirement. 2. Prioritize and finish it at the soonest possible time. 3. I'm flexible and very negotiable in line with your unique needs and budget. As a System Administrator for virtualization, I've frequently engaged in troubleshooting and managing complex issues of VMware infrastructure. My experience of over six years of handling Vsphere infra will be sufficient to help you with your issue. Please take your time to review my proposal and feel free to contact me. Hope to work with you on this project and I'm excited to start as soon as possible. Best regards, Angelito Acuna

I have excellent exposure in Python development, Perl development, VMware Virtualization, vSphere Perl SDK ( 5.0, 5.1 and 5.5), Cloud Computing using Perl/Python automation development in same VMware virtualization domain. I had already completed this by assuming folloing points: # Input file will have only VM names in separate lines # VM will be belong to given Cluster and Cluster should be available in vCenter. # Resource Pool will be available in given vCenter. # Need to provide the file name containing vms, cluster name , resourse pool, vcenter server ip , vcenter user name and vcenter password. Please tell me if you have any idea or assumption as per your Data center to incorporate.

I have been working with VMware products for more than decade and have two VCPs. I have written a simple script that prompts for Vcenter IP/name, credentials, Resource pool name and file name (with list of VMs) and will move the VMs on the list to the requested resource pool. Script handles spaces in Resource pool name or VM name without an issue, and has been tested on PowerCLI 6 on Windows 10 connecting to Vcenter 6, but should work on earlier versions too.

I have extensive experience in VMWare and have used PowerCLI to automate many tasks and procedures. As I understand it, you just want the script to read a text file, which will have the VMs listed in it, to then move these VMs into a specific resource pool? If so, it is a fairly simple process and am confident we can achieve it within the timeframe set.
