We will hire a number of translators as we will require translations to be done 5-6 days per week, to a deadline. This job is suited to translators with a very strong understanding of English, preferably where the applicant has actually lived in an English speaking country. In particular to be able to locate logical English word strung together without spaces. The system you will be using will allow you to log in and translate the words required. We require a very high quality of translations and our system ensures that your translations then checked by another human translator. (You will need to maintain a high level of correct translations to retain employment). To speed up the process of translations, the names are first automatically translated, you can then see the automatic translation and then make changes in a text box, should they be required. Your skill will be to determine if the translation is correct, if not, then fix the translation to be reflective of the names displayed. I have attached a example screen, as you can see some of the names have been translated correctly, some are partially correct and some are totally incorrect. For the next month or two there will be a tremendous amount of translations to be done. Thereafter, we estimate about 1-8 hours per day. With your application we need to know how many hours per day/week/month you can work. This work can be done at night as long as you have a stable internet connection. To complete this application you are required to complete this short test... [[login to view URL]][1] Please use your vWorker username so we can match your test scores with your application. You will see that many of the names are either some form of "slang", lack meaning, are multiple words joined together or even play on words. Your skill will be to identify these and provide adequate translation (sound, meaning, names etc). The first three have been complete to provide you with an example. To make translation easier and quicker, the successful applicants will have part of the translation automatically completed. This works well for English first names and surnames. The test is to allow us to grade your translations on difficult translations. ***** NO APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT COMPLETING THE TEST ***** ## Translation Guidelines {#jobDescription} In English we don't have different words for different meanings for example... bow, cape, bark, wound, close, left, evening etc So we have no way of "knowing" what was the intended meaning of the word in these context. So an educated guess is required. Many names to translate are multiple words joined together (without a space). For example… GOLDSTINGER would be GOLD STINGER INAMOMENT - IN A MOMENT HOWDIDDYDOIT - HOW DID HE DO IT Many names have "slang" or abbreviations in the names... For example… HEZA KOOL KAT Would translate to HE IS A COOL CAT GOT 'EM - GOT THEM Some have both "slang"/abbreviations and multiple words joined... GREAT'N'GREY - GREAT AND GREY Where possible always use the literal translation of names displayed, failing that then use the shortest "sound" translation possible (while retaining a good quality translation). ## Platform q
