Create excel spreadsheet / develop a simple program to display spending

I record (note down) my personal spending in around 85 categories (tags). I would like to be able to monitor increases and decreases in this spending (each of 85 categories) (1) from week to week and (2) from month to month. I produce total weekly and total monthly amounts (all in GBP - Pound sterling) where the weeks run from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 and months run from 1st to the the last day of course. I would like to see the % change in amounts spent from X week in the past to the current week; Secondly, I would like a dynamically-generated line graph that shows change in spending for 1 or more category at a time. There is a hierarchy of categories where, for example, Food and Drink would include sub-categories such as (1) Food (2) Drink (3) Food and Drink bought from Cafes/Restaurants (4) Food that is healthy v. (5) Food that is unhealthy etc... All these categories are pre-defined and as I've said I have amounts spent on each category each week/month (for some categories, for some weeks/months, the amount may be zero). I would be looking for at least 3 screens: (1) The interface where I enter the amounts for each category the week/month just past (2) Screen showing increases/decreases (3) Line graph with X-axis = time and Y-axis = amounts in £. Attachment 1: Image showing some of the 85 categories (the 3 or 4 letter abbreviations all mean something - I will explain later but not important to project) Attachment 2: An amateur spreadsheet give a 'little' better idea of what I am looking for. I am keen to hear your ideas on what will or will not work - a program may work just as well.
