C++ get webpage and print application

I am very proficient in c, c++. I have 15 years c++ developing experience now, and I have worked for 5 years. My work is online game developing, and mainly focus on server side, the lauguage is c++ under linux os. So, programming in c++ is never a problem. I used c++ to make many great projects, for example, I made the tools which can convert java files to c++ with the same meaning, of course garbage collection included. Hi, I have good development skills in C/C++ on Windows using WIn32 API and sockets. I can develop this in either C or C++ with no dependency on other libraries. This can be developed as a Windows service which runs in the background. The application will have a small memory footprint and not take up much CPU time. Cheers -Sridhar

Hello, I wanted to clarify some aspects of project: 1. Target OS. Is it Linux or Windows? In case of WIndows is it ok for application to be Windows service? 2. Should communication protocol be secured? If application intended to run on trusted network it's ok, but if port will be public, everyone will be able to print web pages on your printer. :-) Also, is there any thoughts about how this protocol will look like. Should it be HTTP-based or some custom binary protocol? 3. Printing web page can be done in 2 stages: a. Convert it to PDF using wkhtmltopdf. It's based on webkit and supports css and js. I've worked with this tool before. b. Send PDF to printer. 4. Is there strong reasons to use c/cpp to write this app. It can be easier to do it in C#(Windows) or Python/Ruby(Linux). But if c/cpp is preferred, it's ok.
