Custom search feature php/mysql

Looking for the creation or customization of an open source search feature for software I had developed. The software consists of company listings and some custom fields, possible other features that I could use is geoIP and some custom fields, ie., if a box is checked, indicating serves only 21+ then bring me those results. Looking at Apache Solar and Spinx as possible sources.
