Austin
Welcome to springtime in Austin, TX. Start your day at the Kerby Lane Cafe on South Lamar, they serve the best coffee in Texas, not to mention inexpensive home cooked meals. Next a relaxing stroll around Lady Bird lake, and the Lady Bird Wildflower Center. The lake and center named for the beloved First Lady of the United States and native Texan, Lady Bird Johnson. Have you worked up an appetite? Head over to the Iron Cactus restaurant and tequila bar on historic sixth street. A must have at the Iron Cactus is the guacamole prepared fresh at your table and if your are feeling adventurous, the Iron Cactus has over 100 selections of tequila for you to try. One of the most unique things about Austin are the bats. Yes bats, travel to the South Congress bridge to arrive just before dusk to first hand observe the largest urban bat community in the world fly out for their evening hunt. Probably time for a quick nap before deciding which of the wonderful Austin restaurants to go to for dinner. Finally, sixth street for live music and dancing. If you can't find fun on sixth street, you can't find it anywhere.
