Who I Am: Hi I am a project manager for my real estate investing company in Oakland, Ca in the United States. I am creating professional CD’s sharing my knowledge from what I have learned in working in this exciting business for my whole life and I need help! Project Overview: I am creating a series of CD’s, booklets, and flyers based on my experience in the professional world of real estate investing. All of my knowledge is recorded in hours of audio and I want it transcribed, then elaborated with colorful detail and fine tuned grammar. From there, this elaborated transcription will be used for my CD’s. What I’m looking for: 1. Availability on my schedule. 9 A.M. Pacific Time, everyday, I need to have you available to ask me questions, have access to Skype, give me an update on your progress, and work with me. 2. Immediate Disclosure of work you have done up to the point that I ask for you to provide me an update. 3. Transcribing Skills 4. Experience in professional writing for magazines, newspapers, journals, books, etc. Project Details: I need someone to transcribe my audio recordings. After the transcription is done, I need the transcription elaborated on. Turn my simple audio recordings into words that are pleasing on the ear. I need these transcriptions to be works that people enjoy listening to and could spend hours listening to. Additional Information: If you have any questions feel free to message me. Hello! I think we would be great partners on this project because I not only have a lot of experience as a transcriber (going to a job this afternoon, in fact!) & a writer (please see my Freelancer page, including the Portfolio with a few article samples) but I have worked a lot with real estate professionals.I was ghostwriting a memoir/sales text for a prominent Northern California real estate guy, in fact, before the economy took a tumble and he decided to end the project. I can send you his testimonial about me, if you like. I have also edited a couple of real estate books when I was with Cameo Publications, & ghostwrote dozens of articles for websites and blogs about real estate, primarily when I was at Cameo Publications. I also have written newspaper articles for the local papers' real estate features section. I sounds like you are looking for a transcription to be made into a "script" for you to record as CDs. I also have an extensive background as an actor, director & producer, so that also makes this a good fit for us both. My bid may be negotiable, depending on how many hours of transcription you have and how long the process will be to turn those transcripts into scripts. I am an American by birth and a native English speaker with a Bachelor's of Science degree. Further, I have extensive experience in writing academic papers. Dear Pecuniary 3: I would absolutely LOVE this job! I like your approach and believe it is bang-on. Audio transcription is, to my mind, the absolute best way to produce readable non-fiction. I LOVE TRANSCRIBING. Transcribing is what I have done for 20 years. No, I have not worked for a transcription company--although I have done my share of legal transcriptions on the side--but as a ghostwriter and communications consultant, transcribing is one of my core services. For many of my clients, they talk as I type. What emerges is their distinct voice, even after all the editing and re-organization. I LOVE REAL ESTATE INVESTING. I took the entire Whitney course several years ago with my ex, and would love to learn more. To think of having hours of audio to listen to would significantly enhance my enjoyment of the job. Dear Pecuniary3, I am a writer working in Los Angeles with a Bachelor's degree in Public Communications and English Textual Studies from Syracuse University. Most of my formal training is in writing academic and persuasive pieces, and I have writing experience relevant to your job. I polish corporate language on companies’ websites and pamphlets, taking some of the starch out of a dry read and creating a more approachable feel. I am also editing a book on Western sword fighting, and although the content is markedly different, the writing process seems very similar to your proposed project. The author of this manual is a very knowledgeable individual, but his words on paper didn’t flow as smoothly as he wanted. I read his manuscript several times and made structural adjustments to make the writing more powerful and give a better pace, but we didn’t get to the heart of the material until he and I spoke. I had compiled a list of questions which I felt were unanswered, and I wanted to better serve his work. In his writing he made sweeping statements, but didn’t back up his statements in the text. The interview session revealed so much about the logic behind a system of defense which lasted for centuries, and allowed me to write a more in-depth, flowing and compelling book. He needed a less industry-specific set of eyes to make sure everything was intelligible for aspiring students. I would enjoy working on your project, and hope to speak with you soon. Regards.
