Alter existing script for google maps API

The website and all functionality are already live and working. I am looking for someone to adjust a current script that currently displays a map within a div showing coordinates of an object's location using Google Maps API.

I would like the new map feature to achieve the following:

1. display the distance in km/m from current location to object location showing both DRIVING and STRAIGHT LINE distance in plain text.

2. display google map in div showing the driving directions between the current position and the object position.

3. clean up existing geolocation code that captures current lat/long and records it to a database via XML HTTP - re-using functions where possible.

4 To keep as low impact on bandwidth as website is used mainly in a mobile smart phone environment and also as an iOS WebApp!

5. must be aware that the code MUST be responsive and adaptable across iOS and Android devices.

The functions are called through one includes .js script and the geolocation must be available to feed existing calls - or have those called updated to work with your new code.
