WEBSITE FOR PLASTELINE Location: Munich, Germany The task is to build a complete website for a web music record label. The current site is in an unfinished state ([login to view URL]) and to redesign it would most probably cost more time and money than building a new one (the whole thing was done in flash). The purpose of the site will primarily be to project artists and sell their respective releases in mp3 or other digital format. Thus various internet-banking systems have to be implemented as well. Also the option to sell hard copies (vinyl/CDs) for specific releases from within the site is needed. Logos, text and any relevant material will be provided from me. The complete site will run in English. The design as well as the details should be discussed with me thoroughly prior to commencing with work. I believe that the best way to accomplish the whole project would be to do everything in html and just add various flash elements to enhance the design. But this has to be sorted out first. Anyway, applicants should be able to program in both. As for the site content it will need to be updated by me on a constant basis, thus PHP and My SQL are needed. Furthermore the website is to be build by using CSS in order to be able to change appearance at any time. One can use following references: Label: [login to view URL] (detailed functionality) Label: [login to view URL] (reference to design) MP3 Shop: [login to view URL] (the best flash design around for this kind of application) Customized MP3 Shop: [login to view URL] (design and functionality) In detail, the site has to consist of following sections: 1. HOME (/about): 1.1 news headlines 1.2 recent event flyer (flyer has to be downloadable in real size and good image resolution) 1.3 recent release cover 1.4 about Plasteline 2. NEWS: 2.1 news on releases 2.2 news on events 2.3 various news 3. ARTISTS: 3.1 List the various artists. Upon selection of an artist following points need to be displayed 3.2 Biography 3.3 Current Charts (vinyl favorites, DJ charts) 3.4 Recent Press Releases 3.5 Recent/Upcoming Gigs (link to events section) 3.6 DJ Sets – should get linked with gallery section 3.7 Releases (very important) – link to Label/Music section 4. LABEL (/MUSIC/MP3-SHOP) 4.1 List the various releases (further categorize to already released and upcoming releases) After picking up a release further subcategories need to be displayed: 4.2 Description of current release 4.3 List respective tracks. One should be able to review (listen to) the tracks separately or all at one go in MP3 format (from within the site / thus custom mp3 online player is very important) and also has to be able to buy (download) them. This is where we get down to the ecommerce part of the site, which represents the most important section of the project since the main goal apart from presenting the artists is to sell their music. The procedure has as follows: bought mp3s are being put together in a shopping basket, which has to be checked by the client/fan one last time prior to exiting/proceeding with the payment. Also terms & conditions have to be checked before that. It may be that an agreement has to be signed electronically. If an account is needed in order to purchase stuff, still has to be discussed. Of course an account makes many things a lot easier: saved details, wish list and much more. Once to the point where payment has to be made, various Internet payment methods are required. Which method will be chosen finally, still has to be discussed. One thing is clear though: support for payment via cell phone billing is needed, as well as European standard money bank transfer. Also the [login to view URL] option is of interest. As a reference, following link can be used: ([login to view URL]). Finally it will depend on whether the customer has purchased an mp3 (most likely) or a hardcopy (vinyl or CD) of the release, as to what happens after payment. The two options would be either to initiate a download or to send out a statement regarding the physical mail out of the vinyl or CD. 5. GALLERY 5.1 Images (option to download them in fine resolution) 5.2 Past Events Flyer (option to download them in fine resolution) 5.3 Audio/DJ Sets (stream or download compressed file including track listing and cover) 6. LINKS 6.1 link to other labels 6.2 link to various Internet goodies So up until now I’ve described the main sections of the site, but following features should get included as well: • contact details including contact form in order to be able to mail from within the site • newsletter subscribe function (mailing list) • under Releases and DJ Sets there has to be the option to tell a friend • Guestbook (may be as one of the main sections) or Forum (has to be discussed further) • Impressum / Disclaimer • Terms & Conditions • FAQs / Help Center • Bookmark this page • Search function • Subscription to a series of releases (e.g. 20EUR for the releases of a whole year) – could be included in the shop or the home section • Subscription to DJ Sets as podcasts (very important) • Intro in which the viewer is to be informed about the contents of the page (flash, real audio for example) and redirected to software vendors if needed. • OPTIMISE FOR MAIN SEARCH ENGINEES What I can’t repeat very often is that I need the whole thing to be done very professionally. So please bid only if you think that you can manage the project. As for scripts or software used, any source can be used as long as no rights are violated. The programmed software has to be cleared from third parties before handed over. Any codes used have to be kept in secret. Upon delivery of the website, all rights are transferred to me. Any changes to the software need to be easily programmable. PLEASE APPLY BY ALSO PROVIDING REFERENCES Useful links: player/online shop scripts: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] further links: [login to view URL] open source scripts: [login to view URL]
