**Hello all CSS gurus!

**I need a box to be coded that has fixed width (not 100%) and is centered in the screen. Don't use a table, the code must be pure CSS.

The requirements are:

* the box must be positioned with position: absolute.

* the width of the box can be defined either in pixels, em or per cent.

* the box must be a child of the body tag and not of any other div

Maybe it will be necessary to put some divs together but the main issue is to place the box itself anywhere directly below the body.

I know that this works in Firefox/Safari:

top: 0;

left: auto;

and this works in IE6:

left: 50%;

margin-left: -50%;

I need this issue to be solved for IE 5.0, IE 5.5, Opera and - if possible but not required - for IE Mac. After you finished the code I will like to see it on your server (or website) first so that I can test it in IE 5.0, IE 5.5 (and IE Mac if possible) myself.

I hope that the description is clear. If not don't hesitate to ask me. Waiting for your bids.

Hello,

sorry but this rich text editor drives me crazy, some important details have disapperared somehow.

Here is a short summary of all requirements:

- the box must have position: absolute; below the body tag

- fixed width

- centered in the browser horizontally (vertically is not necessary).

- the code must work in modern browsers, IE 5.0, IE 5.5 and if possible IE Mac (not required).

Of course you can use any hacks, IE expressions, anything you need.

Regards
